About Me

I am Christopher Jones, a graphic designer with a passion for technology. I enjoy designing beautiful things, building functional websites and creating enjoyable experiences. Most of all, I like to solve problems.

Background

I grew up in an exciting time when the World Wide Web was just becoming a reality. My fascination with all things digital and my creative tendencies led me to explore the newly created world of Web design. I honed my skills first by teaching myself how to code, and then by learning important color and aesthetic principles in art classes. When it was time to decide on a career, I knew I wanted to be a designer.

I went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Western Michigan University. That strong education in design principles coupled with my decade plus of Web design and development experience has turned me into the tech savvy graphic designer I am today.

After graduation I spent time working as a freelancer, at a small design firm, a software company, a university and even a marketing firm in Switzerland. My time at each job has allowed me to grow as a designer, as a developer and most importantly as a person.

Beyond work

When I'm not solving design problems, you'll very likely find me on the disc golf course or enjoying a good movie. I like to keep up with the latest tech toys and cool apps, which I often feature on my blog. A quiet night in playing board games with my friends is common, but I'm never one to turn down a good travel adventure either. Lately my biggest passion has been playing kubb.
